One Saturday, we’re having a sibling chat on the couch. Sam called Jeremiah, and it turned into a speakerphone convo. It’s one of those shared-brain sessions where one memory triggers another, and suddenly you recall a whole vein of stories.
We started looking up pictures online.
We had a lot of these guys, picked up from yard sales and thrift stores.
After scrolling through Google images a while, we remembered there’s an hour-long animated Rescue Heroes movie. Jon found it on YouTube. I can’t say I recommend, but we watched the whole thing, recalling story beats (Active volcano! Overeager reporter! Lost child named Brent! Snow avalanche! Lightning storms! Poisonous plant!) as if no time had passed.
A few days later, we were hit with a snowstorm.
Thanks for reading! I hope you feel powerful and stompy, whatever’s coming atcha these days.
❤️, Ten

My proposal for a solo art show got accepted by the good folks at Rose & Eugene Presents! Warmth for Cold Spells will be up in their gallery this December. (Now I just have to make the art!)
I love these frames + photos by artist Gabe Schneider.
Just finished The Mountain in the Sea, a thought-provoking novel about tech and communication and paying attention to each other. This interview with the author, Ray Nayler, is great: “Don’t be afraid of your own depth. Don’t dumb yourself down to be less threatening to others.”
Ready to dress as Gollum for a costume party??
The copywriting on this webpage for a sweatshirt takes me back to my college running days in the best way.
I really enjoyed the sketches (as well as the conversations concerning the toys). Our family loved the Rescue Heroes as well. So much fun you all reminiscing! Great stuff!
Ooo, I want to see your stompy boots! I love me a clothes swap. Congrats on your solo art show — you're incredible!!! ✨
