My siblings and I planned a camping trip in Minnesota. The drive up was long and we had to grab a few things on the way.
Mystifying. What would her prophecy have been if I told her I owned a cat??
Kwik Trip didn’t have bagels, so we ended up in the most charming local corner store:
Egg roll brats, folks.
Just peak vacation experience.
We also went to the amazing Franconia Sculpture Park. You walk along a path mown through native plant prairies and come across these giant things that throw you into an entirely new world. One with majestic scrapyard playgrounds (you could really climb it!) and alien portals in forests. There was so much more. You should visit.
Four Years of Stories!
Ten Times is four years old!
I started this project in August 2020. I had my first full time job, I was beginning to think about buying a house, and I started making monthly newsletters.
(Who didn’t have a life-bending year then?)
In a lot of ways, this feels like the work I’m meant to make, and it was just waiting for me to find it four years ago. I love noticing funny moments and tucking them away, I love getting my thoughts pinned down each month, I love my tidy little bundle of archived stories, I love sharing parts of myself with you and hearing that you get it.
Here’s the first newsletter I wrote: Girl tries natural deodorant. You won't BELIEVE what happens next!!
And a few more from the archives:
June ‘21: Unwanted visitors
October ‘21: I borrow the color green
May ‘22: Delights
July ‘22: A fishy field trip

What happens when you put mayo in an ice cream maker? Well, the first thing that happens is I start cackling. Dennis Lee, writer of Food is Stupid, began making unhinged food and writing ridiculous play-by-play as a project to torch his food writing career. Instead of killing his career, he began to get paid to do the crazy stuff.
Don’t miss the time he snuck hot dogs into Olive Garden to remake the breadstick-as-bun meme.
“Wholeness only comes out of wholeness. We can not afford to waste even one particle that has it.” I love this way of paying attention to the structure of a neighborhood and beginning repair.
Thanks for being here! I hope you got some nice summer adventures in.
Have you tried any weird brat flavors?
❤️, Ten
Happy four years!! I opened a new tab to read your first ever post so fast — I've gone through my own natural deodorant journey (I currently use hello deoderant and really like it) 😆 Minnesota is top on my list to visit!! One of my closest friends lives there and you've given me even more reasons to visit ❤️
